Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions.

We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to us!

Do you want to support young people aged 16-29 who are currently unemployed? Are you an independent problem solver? Are you good at building relationships with youth, partners, associations, religious communities, and employers? Then you should apply for the position with us as a youth consultant focusing on unemployed youth.

The group of young people who neither work nor study is abbreviated UVAS. This group is higher in Järva compared to the city of Stockholm as a whole. Working as a youth consultant focusing on unemployed youth with us means making a difference. You will be employed by Järva District Administration, and the job coach employed by the Labor Market Administration will be your closest colleague, and together you will form a UVAS team. The UVAS operations are located in Tensta, Rinkeby, and Husby.

We offer you

With us, we offer you, among other things, wellness grants and discounts at certain gyms. Please read more about the benefits of the City of Stockholm here.

Your role

Before 2026, Järva District Administration and the Labor Market Administration will intensify their collaboration to significantly reduce the number of UVAS in the district. We refer to this collaboration as a joint UVAS initiative, aimed at creating new common working methods to reach the target group. In addition to internal collaboration between different administrations in the city, collaboration with civil society, business, and religious communities in Järva is included.

The work involves great variation, and examples of tasks include:

  • Outreach and motivational work
  • Collaborating with the district's field assistants, school social workers, labor market consultants, and all functions of Jobbtorg Ung
  • Finding pathways to work and/or studies based on individual circumstances and wishes
  • Planning lectures, events, and recruitment meetings based on identified needs

Experiences and qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in social work or another higher education degree that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • Experience in building relationships with youth and those who come into contact with young people.
  • Experience working in a politically governed organization.
  • Computer skills and experience working with the Office suite.
  • Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
  • Good experience in documentation and administration.

We also consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working in socially disadvantaged areas.
  • Good knowledge of labor market issues.

We would like you to be a creative and unpretentious person who enjoys thinking outside the box and finding solutions that meet the needs of the target group flexibly. You are comfortable reaching out to different professionals and have no problem holding presentations or representing the organization in various contexts. You are not afraid to try new working methods or approaches but see it as a natural part of developing the work and adapting it to the target group's circumstances.

Other

The role of youth consultant includes outreach and relationship-building work in the district, which means that part of the working hours will be scheduled outside regular office hours.

Interviews may be conducted on an ongoing basis.

We look forward to reading your application!

Your application

We are recruiting without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only consider your CV and a number of questions you will need to answer when applying for the position. We ask that you respond concretely and succinctly to the questions, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV.

The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's skills and thus combating discrimination.

Welcome to Järva District Administration!

To meet today's and tomorrow's challenges, Järva District Administration was established in 2023. In our district administration, we develop support and services focusing on all residents of Järva. Our operations are characterized by collaboration, courage, empathy, and respectful treatment. We strive for open communication and respect for differences, and we believe that diversity and a balanced gender distribution contribute to developing our operations. We hope that you who are applying want to develop together with us.
